Fullscreen applications look what you would expect them to look. Whether that's "too bad" depends on your sense for aesthetics. Non-Retina adapted apps on the desktop right beside Retina adapted apps clearly stand out for being somewhat blurry. When you are running games on lower resolution or running non-optimized apps for retina, do they look too bad?Depends. That means that most user interface elements and most text are unreadably small. But even if they run smooth, I definitely would not recommend running them at native resolution, since they are not adapted to Retina resolutions. The Source games mainly run relatively smooth at 2880x1800, but not at 60+ fps. Is it possbile to run modern games in native resolution with steady 60+ fps?Not really.
